I used to love Marble beach and the peacefulness but now it is overcrowded with music that can burst your eardrums. Not a particulary positive Thassian experience, rather comparable to a party beach in Ibiza. :'(

The road to the marble beach has been closed for the last two days due to fire protection so they say.

There's was a police jeep there yesterday blocking off the road and once again today. Yesterday they said it was due to the wind but there was no wind today.

A friend of ours at Makryammos told us there is concern about the amount of people that go there, the possible lack of responsibility and the remoteness.

Who knows when it will open again.

Needless to say, me and the Mrs have seen a lot of vehicles passing us as we're hiking up that hill only to see them again coming back down again.
