Thessaloniki from Bristol!

Beitrag von BigAl »

I have just booked flights from Bristol to Thessaloniki with an overnight stop in Bergamo and all for £89.00!
Not bad me thinks!!
Living in Devon it means that I don't have to drive up to the dreaded Gatwick!!

Big Al,

That's a very good price but can I ask if you are coming back and what the price is? I still think with all the extras you can't beat BA, if you book early.

Mind you, the wife is now saying that she doesn't like having to drive from Thessaloniki. I do wish more would try Kavala but I think we are stuck with Thomson.

Yes on the way back its £100.00
Thessaloniki to Girona
then Girona to Bristol
Ryanair again!
All on the same day.
Aegean do an overnight flight from Heathrow and Manchester that if you go on the right days marries up with the 6.00 am Olympic flight to Kavala.
I see you live in Wiltshire so it's a drive to Gatwick for the early Thomsons flight to Kavala, I find this a killer from Devon as it means an overnight drive, we usually fly with EJ on a Friday so it's bed Weds work Thurs leave at midnight drive to Gatwick 3.00 am, snooze on flight pick up car arrive Friday 5.00 pm isn meet friends out late bed 2.00 amish on Sat morning!!!!
The flight from Bergamo is 11.25 am so its a nights sleep in a hotel breakfast then stroll to airport, I think it will be a lot less tiring from our part of the world, will let you know how it went when I get back!!!

The Thomson's Greece and Cyprus brochure for 2014 is listing flights from Bristol to Kavala on Sundays at 6.35. Mind you there is a supplement of between £55 and £85 on top of the price!

So 2 weeks at the Emerald in early July, £635 per person. Go independent.

Depending on how long you're there for we may bump into one another.

We're out on the 16th for 11 nights staying in Panagia.

I know you've always got your finger on the Thassos pulse so who you booking your car with this time?

We'll probably go Potos Car Rentals again, used them a couple of times in the past with no complaint.

Enjoy Big Al.

Hi Bluesman

I come home on the 16th Sept just a flying visit!!
I did a search for a car on a comparison website, went via Argushire in the end, good price!

I'll have a quick look before I book but usually like dealing with people I've dealt with in the past for peace of mind although it probably means very little. Never had a problem with Potos apart from that is getting the lady in their office to understand me once when I booked at short notice.

I booked online 72 hrs before I was due to land in Thessaloniki and was sent a reply saying something along the lines of 'You should receive booking confirmation within 5 days'. Obviously a 5 day wait for confirmation was no good to me so I waited until the last possible moment for a reply but in the end had to ring their office in Potos.

The poor lady couldn't understand me nor me her apart from when after a few minutes of me trying to explain arrival dates, times, online booking etc she said "wait please" she then apparently ran next door to find someone to help and the next thing I knew was i'm talking to someone from the north of England.
I think he said he owned a shop or something along by the Potos Car Rentals office and that the poor woman who to be honest sounded as if she was getting on a bit, had run into his shop and asked him for help, although it sounded as if this had happened on more than one occasion previously.

All part of the Greek charm.
