I will respond now because of your last comments about expats. Please don't think for a minute our not replying means we are unhappy you are so wrong; we LOVE living here, yes it has its problems............................but have you been back to the UK lately, Northampton has pot holes in the road like tank traps, graffiti everywhere, living in the UK means you have huge water bills, exorbitant TV licences, council taxes that are so high they are unbelievable and they too have bins that need emptying as they only empty the bins on a rota system every 2 weeks!
Given a choice of the 2 places to me its a no-brainer, Thassos wins every time, truly wonderful people (of every nationality) a beautiful island and to me its paradise on earth.
If you are so unhappy here I cannot help but wonder why you are staying.

Dear Janet, I am sorry if you thought my novels were patronising, I had thought I was being rather supportive and understanding of your situation but you didn't quite grasp the context of my monologues. I now live in London ( which you may hold against me) lol. I love my country very much. As BigAl mentioned holidayed, lived, worked and got married in Agios Nikolaos church Limenas many moons ago. I had lived in Greece,( Athens, Kavala Thassos) for 25 years and have been living and visiting Thassos from 1978 to date. I had my highs and my lows so I do rather think I have the knowledge and experience of life on the island. I love Thassos it is now my second home. If your response to someone that was empathising with you is like that above, you must be mateless which is possibly why you are so unhappy. Try being nice, light hearted and with a sense of humour. I shall now put myself into detention for using sarcasm. Το οποίο μπορεί να βοηθήσει λιγο "OMing" lol.

Considering there are other more suitable topic boards on the forum to air your views Janet you have chosen the 'Thassos International' forum to vent your dissatisfaction with living on the island and also to make personal attacks on anyone who dares to reply ...if 'international' replies are not what you are wanting then choose the correct board... unless of course your intention is to goad
