Breeze Bar is now stocking bottled light & dark wheat beers plus porter & a cherry beer. This will be good for people whom like a friend doesn't like the lager/Greek type beers. Also being served on Sunday lunch time is a full roast -: Topside of Beef, Yorkshire pud,Roast Potatoes & Veg.
The lack of sunday roasts, english style beers and British chavs is exactly the reason, in my view, why we choose Thassos instead Benidorm, Kavos etc.
What next Bingo!!!!
We don't eat English food when in Greece, you can't beat Greek food, that's one of the reasons we return year after year to Thassos.
(That and the friendly people).
What next a Karaoke bar!!!
I know everyone is different but I have never understood the need for an English breakfast or a Sunday roast when you are in Greece.
I love Real Ale but I will put up with a nice Mythos in an ice cold glass!

I personally couldn't agree more with some of the replies,We come to Thassos for the whole Greek way of life, to sample the lovely Greek food and beers & enjoy this special Island. However there is such a thing as freedom of choice (not all like a certain type of cuisine, ingredient or the lighter beers, I personally dislike tomatoes). All Breeze Bar is doing is giving people the option of choice with local ingredients just prepared in a different way. Yes the beer is probably imported, but what about scotch, vodka, gin etc. As for Karaoke or Bingo "Excuse Me" but We would be the 1st out of the door.
I would just like to add that the weis beers are from Germany, the porter is from San Fransisco and the Cherry beer is from Belgium. The bar does not sell Tetleys or John Smiths and has a continental feel about it, especially one night when we were entertained by some local Greek teachers who decided to show us traditional Greek dancing (although no plate smashing)! As for English Breakfasts these are available in most Greek cafe bars as well as the English Bars.
This seems to have opened up a hornets nest.............what about each to his own!!! All I know is they are pretty busy so I guess they must be doing something right.
ButterflyQueen - you have hit the nail on the head! it is a continental cafe bar. It is very much a personal choice and if every place Greek, English or otherwise was the same it would get very boring!!!
Personally I love Greek food and eat mainly Greek on hols but always have a full English on my last day to sustain me through the journey. My husband and I 'spread' our business about going to both Greek and English bars.
One of the things i love about Thassos is there's a little of everything if you want it. Yes you can get a traditional 'English' breakfast if it takes your fancy but by the same token you can also easily find fresh yoghurt and local honey as well.
What makes Thassos stand out amongst other things is the fact it hasn't been turned into just another 'English resort' and long may it remain so.
