Returning to Thassos after 19 years!!!

Me and the hubby have not been to Thassos since 1999 for a number of reasons but are finally returning in August with two offspring in tow!! stopping in Hotel Filia in Thassos Town and cannot wait.

How wonderful , we go this friday for the 10th time , the first was my 40th birthday and now for the big 50 , i'm sure you will make new memories now with the family in tow and what a wonderful place to do it, have a wonderful time

us too lol , will see you there , we are going the night before and staying in a hotel, the last time we did this the hotel forgot the alarm call and our alarm didn't go off , we woke 30 mins before take off , have never felt such panic , we've have never ran so fast in our lives, we skidded into the boarding gate with 2 minutes to spare and spent the whole flight traumatized , won't be doing that again

Lol Marie22, that sounds traumatic. We fly next Wednesday so we're getting a bit giddy now. 6 am Easyjet, Manchester - Thessaloniki

Seems thomson have lost the monopoly Blackdog , we're looking forward to the change to thomas cook and booking hotel independently , we have considered the Thessaloniki route but OH wants to just get there lol

Marie22 OMG..... Thank god you managed to get it!! Our biggest trauma for flights was a 10.5 hour delay in 2015 to Corfu!!!
I cant wait to be on that plane. We have done it independently so are hoping our transfer turns up!!!!!!

We're doing a taxi from the airport and taxi to hotel but doing it all in our own time , Thassos is so relaxed and chilled that you wont care lol , we are all packed and finished now and sat having a mythos in preparation , kavala airport is saying 41 degrees for Friday when we land , cannot wait , see you both there , have a wonderful time

We're all but ready . Just off for my ore holiday treat at the beauty salon!!! Checked in online so got our seats!! very excited now!!!! Bring on the Mythos!!

Thomson most certainly have lost the monopoly. Jet2 have started flying to Thessaloniki too, so for the first time this year we're flying from our closest airport, East Midlands!
Just over a week to go now. I feel like I'm the last person to go on holiday this year

Well i'm presuming we all had a wonderful magical time and are now all too depressed to post back lol , well what a fantastic time we had , for my 50th we went on a parachute fly , had a fish spar in potos and had many a free drink from the kind thassos people.We travelled around the whole island during our 2 weeks, had wonderful weather, tried to climb mt ipsario but only got half way ,visited the monastery once again, ate some fantastic food ,drank some fantastic drinks, had a few very late nights and thoroughly soaked in the utter peace of the island , was truly magical even on the 10th visit and oh how we miss it already , see you next year

Hello Marie

You must have had a great two weeks. I had my 5Oth on Thassos in 2OO3 but seems like only yesterday when I check my snaps on this site.

Can you please share by posting some of your photos on the site especially any taken in Skala Potamia and Golden Beach. I would love to see how it looks now.

It has just past 2O years since I first visited on Monarch and four years now since I was last there. It's been 4 visits to St Ives over recent years.

I would love to go again but looking on the web cam it appears to be very busy now.

You can see from the pictures that it wasn't busy at all for middle of august in fact it was quieter than we're used to , haven't any pictures of golden beach sadly as we mainly just pass through on our scooter but
have put pictures below, think there's about 3 pages around 20 pics, enjoy
