Thassos in may

Hi,
Thinking of visiting Thassos next May, could someone tell me what the whether would normally be that time of year?

And also any info on accommodation in Thassos Town nr the main beach would be greatly appreciated.

I usually go to Thassos in May. Best prices, no crowds. The weather suits me too. Not blazing usually around the 30s. Places just starting to open up. Check out some of my shots taken this May as an indication.Regards Ron.

We go every year in May, the weather is usually good with the odd day of rain/showers & temperatures around 30 though it does get chilly at night. As previously said some places are not open at the start of May but most are by mid May. Also the island is still very green with an abundance of spring flowers (so good for a walk through the olive groves etc.) As for accomodation if You are going with thomson then the closest to the town beach would probably be the Lido, new for next season ( We are hoping to book it for May) then from memory it's either finnekesor the pegasus & then the galaxy.

Tigerman, not sure whether to book flight only or package. Will see if i can find the Lido,but i have seen some places i like the look of - Olgas and Zanet apartments,which i could use if i do flight only.

Anyone know much about those 2 places??

Not a lot to do in May ,places only just starting to open.Great if you want peace and quiet.Can experience some chilly days as weather is not guaranteed but some nice days too. Evenings are a bit chilly.

we always go in may half term the weather is usually just right little cool at night previous years had a day or so of showers but thats all this year it rained once for about 5 minutes then really hot and lovely. good excuse to sit in a bar!

Agree with much that has been said here, also note the sea is very cold in May! Well it was this year!
